How inquiries work
- Scope
- Each inquiry crosses at least two of the four domains, because the questions institutions face rarely stay inside one.
- Publications
- Searchlight issues follow the question as it develops, Research Briefs take up specific parts of it, and at least one Horizon Scan sets out the evidence as a whole.
- Convening
- Findings are tested with practitioners, scholars, and policymakers at a salon held under the Chatham House Rule, and each salon is followed by a published debrief.
- Status
- An inquiry is in preparation while its question and team are set, active while work is being published, and completed when its Horizon Scan and salon are done.
When an inquiry is completed, its publications stay where they are. Open questions that are not yet part of an inquiry are listed on each domain page. Organizations interested in supporting an inquiry can read about partnerships.
